There’s a storm outside… Hayali sneaks into the safety of the kitchen, where she can smell the lingering scent of her mother’s baking in the air. All alone, she searches for comfort as the thunder and lightening continue to rage.

Suddenly, out of the cupboard, emerges a very interesting imaginary friend who brings with her a whole world of magical fun, excitement, and wonder – all based on exploration and sharing. Using what they find in the kitchen, and heaps and heaps of imagination, they delve into play and become fervent with curiosity.

Hayali and her new special friend embark on a beautiful friendship of support and joy and Hayali has the courage to finally stand up and confront her fear of the storm. Hayali's Mess is a unique theatrical experience encouraging children to use their imagination and environment to enjoy the pleasure of play.
